NOTE:  When illuminated by the bulb, this violet jewel tends to have a hue slanted toward the red spectrum, so some call the look a reddish-pinkish-violet color.   If you like violet/purple and want it toward the warmer end of the color spectrum, this is the jewel for you.   If you like it more bluish - toward the cooler end of the violet color zone, choose the purple jewel JL-115P below instead.

NOTE:  To the naked eye, this jewel looks blue until you put it in front of the P-47 bulb.   The bulb has an amber tint to it, so the combo makes the jewel glow purple.  When illuminated by the bulb, this purple jewel tends to have a hue slanted toward the blue spectrum, so some call the look a bluish-purple color.   If you like violet/purple and want it toward the cooler end of the color spectrum, this is the jewel for you.   If you like it more reddish - toward the warmer end of the violet color zone, choose the violet jewel JL-115V above instead. IMPORTANT: NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE WITH THE LED-47 ... WILL LOOK DEEP BLUE INSTEAD OF PURPLE.

NOTE:  Due to the orange glow of the bulb normally used behind this jewel, the resulting color is not a pure brilliant blue ... head on, it looks like a somewhat washed-out blue, and from a side angle, it looks more like purple.   This is not the fault of the jewel, but rather the combination of the blue color of the jewel combined with the orange glow of the bulb.  If used with a pure white light (such as a white LED), the resulting look is a deep blue color.

The purple color on this lamp jewel is toward the cool end of the purple/violet range - so it has more of a bluish tint to the purple color.  In fact, the lamp jewel cover looks blue if the light is not turned on.  If you prefer a warmer tone (toward the red/pink end of the scale), choose the FLA-124V violet lamp assembly.  Not available with the LED option, as the color when using an LED is a deep blue rather than purple.
