Bad belts in these VCRs can cause problems like, tries to power up then shuts down, lines in the picture, eats tape, and fast forward and rewind failure. Contains both belts, Capstan/Idler belt, and the load belt and the idler tire. The tire is the only part of the idler assembly that normally needs to be replaced. The tire drives the reels in both play/record and fast forward/rewind. A bad tire can cause the VCR to eat tapes, fail in rewind or fast forward, fail to play or record.
