Our MBK-22 kit contains both belts that are used in these Panasonic VCRs. Belts can cause a good many problems in these VCRs. One belt drives the idler, which handles tape movement through the VCR. The other belt drives the load assy. Belt problems can range from lines in the picture to shuts down after power up to wont take a cassette. Belts should be your first trouble shooting step. This kit contains both belts and the pinch roller. If the pinch roller has never been replaced your VCR probably needs one. If the old roller has a hard glaze on it or the capstan shaft has a black build up the roller has probably been slipping. This kit is a complete rubber replacement kit for these Panasonic VCRs. The pinch roller pulls the tape thorough the VCR in play and record mode. If the pinch roller has never been replaced your VCR probably needs one. The mode switch in these Panasonic VCRs is a common source of problems.
The VCR may accept a cassette and load it into the play position.
Then unload the tape and eject. The Mode Switch can also case other

The Carriage Gear in these VCRs is a common source or problems. The gear that drives the carriage will strip or break teeth and cause the VCR to fail to load a cassette. If the Carriage Drive Gear in your VCR is white, you probably need to replace it. The replacement gear is blue and much more durable than the original white gear.
