A common problem with this group of VCRs is with the little white gear that drives the carriage. This gear engages the helical gear in the loading assembly. The gear will crack, break, or lose a tooth, causing the VCR to fail to load a cassette or attempt to load without a cassette. You may also want to take a look at our MBK-31-CGRP kit below. Your price for our MBK-31-CG. is $2.50. Instructions included. See photo for parts location. |
![]() MBK-31-CGRP: Carriage Repair Kit |
These VCRs have a fairly high failure rate with the gears that drive the carriage. Both the small white gear that drives the carriage and the stair stepped gear that drives it tend to loose teeth. This will cause the VCR to fail to load a cassette or attempt to load a nonexistent cassette. This kit includes both gears and instructions for installing and timing the gears. Your price for our MBK-31-CGRP kit is $7.00. See photo for parts location. |
